Introduction

PolyScience specializes in designing electrical equipment for sous vide. But if we talk about PolyScience 300 Series Vacuum Sealer, you can also use it for infusing your fruits, marinate meat, or even protecting your keepsakes, etc.

Unlike its competitors, PolyScience 300 Series Chamber Vacuum Sealer features an external vacuum port which is used to seal canisters. Also, it has a dry piston that does not require maintenance at all along with a large interior capacity to accommodate even gallon-size bags.

PolyScience 300 handles liquid and solid foods quite effectively. It also comes with pre-set controls and other features making it convenient for you to use.

Features

1. Stainless Steel Housing & Dry Piston Pump

PolyScience 300 Series Chamber Vacuum Sealer is made up of stainless steel, hence it is quite strong and solid. As it features a dry piston pump, hence no maintenance is required at all. Needless to say, there are some pros and cons about the dry pump. Vacuum Sealers with an oil pump do cost a little bit more and require maintenance as well occasionally, but they don’t get heat up so easily. Also, their performance is quite better for heavy users.

2. Easy-to-use Control Panel

This vacuum sealer comes with 3 pre-set cycles. On the control panel, you can select vacuum level, choose between sealing or marinate functions and also set processing time. Apart from pre-set cycles, you can also create your own cycles and save them for later use.

3. External Vacuum Port and Accommodation of bags of size 12”

Unlike various other leading chamber vacuum sealers, PolyScience 300 Series Chamber Vacuum Sealer comes with an external vacuum port. Also, if you planning on to use canisters as well, this is the vacuum sealer you should go for. Though you can do the same in internal vacuum port of VacMaster chamber vacuum sealers but it is no longer recommended by the manufacturer to do so. Even if you consider that you somehow seal canister, the seal does not hold up for a long time and you would have to seal it again. This leads to dramatic increase in the cost.

4. Built-in Marinade Cycle

PolyScience 300 Series Chamber Vacuum Sealer comes with a built-in Marinade Cycle. Hence, it takes out the need of any manual work from your side whenever you need to marinade any type of food.

5. One year Warranty on Parts & 90-days warranty of the unit

Customer Review

Wow. Just an incredible machine. Works with every type of bag I’ve tried had to increase seal time to 6sec for Mylar bags. Where has this technology been? Could use a pair of handles.

Arrived with a few small scratches which were not from shipping, but minor issues compared to perfect performance.

I continue to be amazed- yesterday I sealed fresh salmon on the highest settings and it didn’t compress the flesh one bit. At first, I thought it had to be broken since all the Foodsaver I’ve ever used would have turned the fillet into a sheet as thin as paper, but the fillets are perfectly packaged and froze well. All of a sudden, I have sushi-grade fish thanks to a salmon, a fisherman, Costco, a knife company, domestic freezers, and PolyScience. Oh, and let’s not forget Amazon…

I’ve had this item for a few months and really, really like it. It’s a must have for people who seriously love and use their Sous Vide circulators. It’s pricey and big so make sure you have a place to put it. It’s very heavy and not something that you take out of a cabinet and put away later. I have mine in the laundry room near my sous vide setup. My first unit had a broken part. I called Breville, who evidently now owns Polyscience, to see if they could help me fix the problem. Without any delay, they arranged to have the unit picked up by UPS and as soon as their records showed that the damaged unit was heading to their warehouse they shipped me a brand new, undamaged unit. So far I am pleased with all of the Polyscience products. By the way, the bags for this sealer are MUCH cheaper than bags for the regular vacuum sealers.

Conclusion

If you are looking for a dry pump vacuum sealer, then PolyScience 300 Series is the product we will recommend you. Though only 9 people have reviewed it so far, but it is being purchased fairly well on Amazon. It can be interpreted in a positive way. Whenever you buy something and it has some defects or you are not satisfied, you quickly open the product page and write a review. While the percentage of people doing so decreases drastically when one is satisfied. The only factor hitting out negatively is its price. Otherwise, it is a versatile vacuum sealer that can be used to handle a wide range of solids and liquids.
